Even the most seasoned H.R. practitioners and leave administrators can get tripped up by employee leave issues. First there is all the different requirements and nuances of the Family Medical Leave Act. Employees can also be eligible for leave as a reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or the Amendments (ADAAA). If that’s not enough an employee who sustains a work-related injury can be eligible for time off under Workers’ Compensation laws. Some employees can be eligible under two laws or even all three at once. So, what’s an employer to do? This seminar will help you untangle the web and navigate the overlap. You will also learn how to take a holistic, proactive approach to managing employee leave – and issues that may come up with employees on leave-to minimize leave abuses.

Janette Levey Frisch

Janette Levey Frisch is an attorney with more than 20 years legal experience. Janette is the founder of The EmpLAWyerologist Firm. Janette works with employers on most employment law issues, acting as the Employer’s Legal Wellness Professional – to ensure that employers are in the best position possible to avoid litigation, audits, employee relations problems, and the attendant, often exorbitant costs. Janette authors the firm’s weekly blog and has written articles on many different employment law issues for many publications, including EEO Insight, Staffing Industry Review, @Law, and Chief Legal Officer.

Janette has also spoken and trained on topics, such as Criminal Background Checks in the Hiring Process, Joint Employment, Severance Arrangements, Pre-Employment Screening among many, many others. Janette is licensed in New Jersey and New York. Attendance Confirmation and required documents:

After we receive the payment from the registered attendee, an electronic event pass (eTicket) will be sent to the email address associated with the registrant 5 working days before the seminar date. Please bring the pass to the event venue.

Substitution Policy:

If a registered delegate is unable to attend, substitutions can be made at any time at the prevailing rate. However, it has to be confirmed a day prior, in writing with proper identification of the substitute person you plan to send on your behalf. No show will be charged the complete amount.

On-the-spot Registration:

We discourage onsite registrations, however, if you wish to register onsite, payment to happen through credit card immediately at the venue. Conference material will be given on the spot if it is available after distributing to attendees registered in advance. In case it is not available, we will send the material after the conference is over.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

Written cancellations through email (from the person who has registered for this conference) received at least 10 calendar days prior to the start date of the event will receive a refund – minus a $300 administration fee. No cancellations will be accepted – nor refunds issued – within 10 calendar days before the start date of the event.

On request by email (before the seminar) a credit for the amount paid minus administration fees ($300) could be transferred to any future Compliance Trainings event and a credit note will be issued.

Substitutions may be made at any time. No-shows will be charged the full amount.
